A Reliable Foundation
Sunstate Cement Ltd. commenced operations at our Port of Brisbane site in 1982 with a storage and distribution facility capable of delivering bulk cement to the building and construction industry at the rate of 100,000 tonnes per year.
In 1985, the company marked its entry into cement manufacture with the opening of a 500,000 tonne per year clinker grinding mill at a cost of $20.5 million. Expansion of operations continued with the installation of a cement packaging facility. A second grinding mill was also installed that increased capacity to over 1 million tonnes per year of bulk and bagged cement product.
Sunstate Cement Ltd. recently completed work on an $85 million expansion program that has increased capacity to supply bulk and bagged cement product to 1.5 million tonnes per year. Our growth ensures that a reliable supply of Sunstate Cement Ltd. branded class cement product will be consistently available to new and existing clients well into the future.
